New Project Alert - NYCHA

Bayview is getting ready to kick off the landscape design for two new projects for New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) properties. The first is at Manhattanville in Harlem, which is being converted into a PACT (Permanent Affordability Commitment Together) led by Apex Building Group, Gilbane Development, and West Harlem Group Assistance. As part of this project, Bayview will be designing new landscaping with outdoor seating, play equipment, and lighting. This project is being considered for the National Register of Historic Places, and if successful, the renovations and restoration will follow guidance from the New York State Historic Preservation Office.

The second project kicking off design is for Eastchester Gardens in the Bronx. Also a PACT project, this one is being led by Infinite Horizons, Wavecrest Management, and MDG. We’re working on a comprehensive improvement plan with improvements to the site and building, including how the site can support a Social Service Plan to uplift youth, adult, senior, and community services at Eastchester.

Each of these projects will be under design in 2024, with an anticipated construction completion date in late 2027. We’re looking forward to working with the residents of each property to develop a site plan and amenities that enhance their outdoor experiences.
