Fall Construction Update: Restoring a Coastal Bluff in Mattituck

Construction of a North Fork Retreat

Following a successful stabilization of the bluff, the second phase of this Mattituck project is now well underway, with a focus on building the luxurious backyard amenities. Our team has completed the initial critical work of reinforcing the shoreline, transforming a fragile, erosion-prone bluff into a resilient and stable coastal ecosystem. With that foundation in place, current efforts are dedicated to building the main entertainment zones that will be the heart of the home’s outdoor living space.

Work is now concentrated on the backyard, where we are constructing the main waterfront features. This area will be an expansive retreat, with crews actively building a deck that will provide stunning views of the bluff and water. Adjacent to the deck, the framing for an inviting pool is in progress, along with the plumbing and gas lines for a fire table, an outdoor kitchen, and a bar. The careful placement and construction of each of these elements is designed to create a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces, maximizing the homeowner’s connection to the beautiful landscape.

While the backyard takes shape, the next phase will address the front yard and the remaining features of the property. Once the current work on the pool and deck is complete, our team will begin the construction of the Zen garden and breezeway, creating a tranquil entry and transition area. The final phase will focus on the landscaping, bringing the entire design to life with plantings that will both beautify the space and further stabilize the bluff. The final result will be a cohesive and stunning home, with every element carefully considered for both its beauty and its longevity.
