Bayview + Netflix

Our favorite part of the Leave the World Behind movie trailer isn't the star-studded cast (Julia Roberts, Mahershala Ali, Ethan Hawke, Myha’la, and Kevin Bacon), the high-profile producers (Barack + Michelle Obama), or the excitement of seeing the book by Rumaan Alam come alive on screen. It's the very prominent role the project we collaborated with The Up Studio has in it!

In 2019, Bayview was the landscape architect for a young family's new home on Long Island. A plant palette of natural greenery wraps the property and compliments the picturesque Noth Shore, Long Island lot. First, Dwell Magazine featured the project (read the Dwell article), and now the home plays a starring role in the Netflix thriller Leave the World Behind, coming December 8, 2023.

In the novel (a timely thriller about a family vacationing on Long Island and a catastrophic event that unwittingly leads two families together to weather a mysterious disaster), a beautifully landscaped vacation home plays the backdrop to the suspense that unfolds.

You know you've made it when your work becomes a movie set!
