Impact Description:
What happens when the right person succeeds in this role?
1 month milestone: You will have completed our onboarding process, becoming familiar with our tools, software, and studio culture. You will be actively managing project tasks and deadlines in Asana, tracking time, and updating task statuses to ensure seamless internal communication.
3 months: You will be fully integrated into project teams, creating and refining conceptual and detailed landscape designs, planting plans, and material selections, with a specific focus on high-end single-family residential properties. You will have been exposed to the process of building permit procurement and assisting with on-site design consultations.
6 months: You will be serving as a reliable Designer on specific phases of luxury residential projects from client handover to completion. You will be conducting on-site design consultations for quality assurance and confidently reviewing shop drawings to ensure design intent is met.
Job Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities:
Serves as Designer from client handover to project completion for single-family luxury residential projects, aligning closely with the Principal or Senior Landscape Architect. Creates and refines conceptual and detailed landscape designs, planting plans, material selections, and documentation. Initiates project narrative drafting.
Conducts on-site design consultations for quality assurance. Reviews shop drawings, and assists with nursery tagging and material delivery inspection.
Acts as the primary contact for building permit procurement, ensuring complete compliance.
Communication & Coordination:
Communicates regularly with clients, allied design professionals, and vendors.
Provides effective status updates in team meetings and maintains a strong grasp of technical details.
Time & Resource Management:
Manages project timelines, resources, and budgets under the guidance of senior staff.
Tracks billable hours diligently, submits timesheets weekly, and manages project tasks and deadlines in Asana.
Professional Development & Firm Contribution:
Engages in continuous professional development through workshops and industry events.
Collaborates on internal initiatives to enhance brand consistency and operational efficiency.
Contributes to firm culture and collaboration, acting as a mentor to interns and junior staff members.
Identifies areas for personal growth and pursues relevant educational opportunities.
Qualifications:
Education: MLA or BLA is required.
Experience: 3-8 years of professional experience (5+ years preferred), with experience in single-family residential projects highly desirable.
Licensure: Professional certification encouraged (WEDG, SITES, LEED, PMP, CNLP). Licensure not required.
Technical Skills: Fluency with Google Workspace, Asana, Hubspot, AutoCAD, Land F/X, and Adobe. Proficiency with Lumion, Bluebeam, Revit, Rhino, or SketchUp is beneficial.
Soft Skills/Competencies: Proactive communication, strong work ethic, solutions-oriented. Ability to manage time, self-edit work, and operate in a team-oriented environment.
Physical Demands/Work Environment: Hybrid schedule (1 day remote/week). Site visits required for Construction Observation.
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $70,000-$85,000 USD.

We offer competitive benefits, including 11 paid holidays, 10 days of PTO, a closed office between December 24th and January 2nd, a 401k with employer match, commuter assistance, paid family leave, an annual bonus, and a healthcare stipend. We also offer a hybrid schedule with WFH Fridays.
